In 1929, archeological digs were done along the historic Disney farm, where axes, spears, and arrowheads were found. Hanover is situated near the Patapsco River, where Native American tribes are said to have inhabited the area. Its borders are Severn on the south, Linthicum on the east, and Elkridge on the north and west.
Hanover, located south of Baltimore, is an unincorporated community within eastern Howard County and northwestern Anne Arundel County in the Annapolis/Baltimore region of Maryland state.
